WOW – Whole of Worthing Network of Schools

WOW is the name for the network of all 28 state schools across Worthing and Durrington that work in partnership for the benefit of all children in the area.

WOW is one of the biggest networks in West Sussex with over 13,000 children its schools.

The WOW network has been developed over the last 5 years. Through the commitment of headteachers, school staff and governors working effectively together it has been very successful in developing projects, activities and training.

The commitment is demonstrated by the agreement of the mission statement above and the core aims listed below. These were formulated by the headteachers of all the schools.

Be Healthy - Love life and want to, and know how to, live a long and happy life.

Stay Safe - Feel valued and respected, having the self worth and confidence to stay safe in life and have the skills, support and understanding to make appropriate choices.

Enjoy and Achieve - Enjoy learning in school, at home and in the community, think everything is possible and be successful.

Make a Positive Contribution - Develop a sense of their own responsibility in order to make a positive and active contribution to local and wider communities.

Achieve Economic Well Being - Have learnt to value and use effectively the life skills needed in school and beyond.

An important part of the development is to signpost parents, carers and pupils to extended school services that provide opportunities for children and young people outside the school day. This website has been established in order to provide this information in one place.
